KBG holds a copy of your premises keys in a secure, controlled-access key safe. When an alarm activates or you need out-of-hours access, a vetted officer attends on your behalf.

Why use a key holding company instead of a staff member?

It removes a real safety risk. Night-time attendance at an activated alarm should not be a staff member's responsibility — lone-working legislation and duty-of-care expectations make it a genuine liability. Professional key holders are trained, equipped, and insured.

How quickly do you respond to an alarm activation?

Target response times are agreed in your contract; 30-60 minutes is typical inside the West Midlands, with tight response areas for priority sites. All activations are logged end-to-end.

Is my key stored securely?

Yes. Keys are held in a coded, access-controlled safe; only named, vetted officers can withdraw them. Key collection and return events are logged with timestamp and officer reference.

Do you provide alarm response alongside key holding?

Yes. Most clients bundle the two — KBG holds the key, attends the alarm, resets the system, and completes a written report the following morning.

Do I need a manned guarding contract to use key holding?

No. Key holding is a standalone service and can run on its own, as a rolling monthly contract, or alongside mobile patrols, static guarding, or CCTV monitoring.

Is key holding cheaper than a night guard?

Significantly. Key holding is a fixed monthly retainer plus per-attendance charge — typically a fraction of the cost of a dedicated overnight static guard.
